Hello, I'm phil
Wedding Photographer & videographer
I’m Philip—founder of Small Story Weddings, filmmaker, photographer, husband, and dad of three. I’ve always believed that the best moments in life aren’t posed—they’re felt. That’s what I look for when I film weddings.
I approach each wedding with a calm presence, a documentary mindset, and a genuine care for your story. When I’m not filming love stories, I’m teaching photography to middle schoolers or enjoying quiet moments with my family in Queens, NY.
My approach

My style blends documentary and editorial—focused on candid emotion with an eye for detail. I move quietly, capturing genuine moments without staging or interruption. From getting ready to the final dance, I let the story unfold naturally and beautifully.
You don’t need to know how to pose or perform. I’ll guide you just enough to feel confident while keeping the experience real and enjoyable. The result? Photos and films that feel like you—not a photoshoot.

why couples love working with me

I don’t just document — I interpret
The way your mom tears up, the way your partner looks at you when you’re not looking — that’s the real story, and I know how to tell it.
You won’t feel rushed or posed
I create space for you to be yourselves, not a Pinterest version of yourselves. My calm, friendly presence helps even the most camera-shy people feel at ease (and maybe even have fun).
I care about your legacy
This isn’t just for Instagram — it’s for your future selves, your family, your story.
Long after the cake is gone and the dress is packed away, these images will still speak—of love, laughter, and the people who mattered most.

Kind Words From
khadine & CJ
We can’t thank Small Story Wedding Films enough for the incredible video they created. Every time we rewatch it, the memories and emotions come flooding back. Philip was professional, accommodating, and captured all the right moments. What we received wasn’t just a video—it was a cinematic love story that far exceeded our expectations.
